The Jasenovac Committee the Serbia Orthodox Church’s Holy Archdiocese, chaired by the Episcope of Slavonia Mr. Jovan (President of the Managing Board of the Museum of Genocide Victims and President of the City of Belgrade Commission for the Memorialization of Staro Sajmište), held its meeting in the monastery of Piva. The meeting place was selected for the canonization of the victims killed by the SS Prince Eugen division, comprised largely of Volksdeutsche and the Croatian Ustashi, from 6th to 12th June 1943. An estimated 1290 civilians of all ages, of which at least a hundred were under-15’s, were murdered during the onslaught.

On behalf of the Museum of Genocide Victims, Veljko Djurić Mišina attended the meeting and informed the members of the Committee about recent Museum’s activities.
