Representatives of the Museum of Genocide Victims - historians Dr. NenadAntonijević and BojanDjokić - joined by the delegation of the Association of the Independent State of Croatia Concentration Camps Prisoners “Jasenovac” from Belgrade, led by President SlavkoMilanović, attended the annual dirge and commemorative gathering in the memory of the suffering of the Serbian children in the second half of 1942 in the territory of the Independent State of Croatia.
The gathering was organized by the Serbian National Council from Zagreb and the SNV Council from the town of Sisak. The gathering took place at the children's cemetery, named The Diana Budisavljević Park.
The gathering began with the dirge held by the priests of the Zagreb-Ljubljana and the Slavonia-Pakrac Dioceses. Dobrila Kukolj from Banja Luka spoke on behalf of the survivors of the detention camp. Orthodox priest Slobodan Lalić and the SNV representative AnetaLalićaddressed the gathered ex-prisoners. The program was hosted by OliveraRadović. "Domestic Guests", a choir from Zagreb, under the direction of JovanaLukić, sang an Armenian song to mark the occasion. The meeting was also attended by the Mayor of the City of Sisak, Deputy Mayor of the Sisak-Moslavina County, Mayor of Dvor, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Zagreb and other esteemed guests. After the meeting, the delegation of the Association of the Independent State of Croatia Concentration Camps Prisoners “Jasenovac” from Belgrade visited the places in Sisak where Serbian children were killed in 1942.
